5 things you can do this weekend to be healthier!

We all know that getting healthy takes time and commitment, but what can you do right now that will jump start your journey? Here are 5 simple things that you can start incorporating into your daily routine to help with your goals:

1.   Drink your water!

Whether you’re replacing a sugary drink or just increasing your intake, water has so many benefits. From staving off hunger to helping digestion to clearing up a foggy brain. As a general rule, aim for 8 glasses a day.

2.   Park as far away as you can.

Heading to the mall? Have to work? Wherever you go this weekend, park as far as you can from your destination. Adding extra steps through the day helps you become more active and adds to your overall health.

3.   Plan your meals.

This one is a bit harder than the rest but probably one of the best things you can do.  It makes grocery store shopping easier, it helps avoid unhealthy grab and go meals and

4.   Aim for 5 servings of veggies

Stop trying to eliminate bad foods and focus on adding some good stuff, which could leave less room for the bad! Toss some veggies in your eggs in the morning, have a salad or a side of vegetables with your lunch and fill ½ your plate at dinner with veggies! Done!

5.   Pamper yourself

This could quite possibly the hardest for you. When was the last time you treated yourself to something? Buy yourself flowers, get a manicure, take some time to read a book. When we nurture ourselves, we create a sense of self-worth. The foundation of health and wellness begins with knowing the importance of taking care of ourselves.
