I didn’t get flowers on Valentine’s Day.

Its Valentine’s Day, 2019. I didn’t get flowers, or jewelry or chocolates. I didn’t get bundles of balloons or a night on the town…And after almost 28 years of marriage why would I expect that?

Because he knows me.

He knows I don’t like fresh cut flowers because it breaks my heart to throw them away when they die.

He knows I’d rather be splattering king crab legs all over our dining room giggling as the dogs lick the pieces off my lap vs. being in a restaurant.

He knows I’d be pissed that he spent money on jewelry when I’d rather invest in our garden.

He knows I enjoy a home cooked meal so much more than a meal at a restaurant.

He knows I’m more comfortable in a night shirt than an evening dress.

He knows I like counting my eggs vs. figuring out a tip.

He knows that I would rather be in front of our fireplace sipping cheap Champaign and eating Girl Scout cookies vs eating creme brulee.

May you find the one that knows you and live happily ever after.

Love,

The Cohns
